In the united states of America every 50 seconds a person is diagnosed with diabetes. Diabetes will affect one in every four persons in North America, and if you were born in the 90s you will have a one in three chance of becoming diabetic within your lifetime.

Never before in history have we ever seen diabetes as common and as prevalent as we do today. Have you ever asked yourself why is there such a dramatic increase in the incidence of diabetes? What has changed in our society to cause children as young as 10 and 11 to develop type II, adult onset diabetes? The disease is called adult onset diabetes, because it is usually associated with people who are much older, or the elderly. Not anymore!

So what exactly is diabetes anyway? The condition occurs if the body is unable to handle the sugar levels which can build up in the blood after consuming food. Your pancreas secretes insulin in order to regulate the sugar levels within the blood, making glucose available to the cells or removing the excess from the body.
