Check # 2 – Shared or common walls
The fewer common or shared walls, the better. This also applies to floors and ceilings, and that is why being on the top floor is a prized location, because there is no-one living above you, so no noisy footsteps in the middle of the night!. Being on the top floor will probably give you a much better view of the neighbourhood, and so if you have picked a good location, the view from the top should be good too, our next item on the checklist.
Check#3 – Apartment Position
The top floor is often considered the prized location of an apartment block, but remember that access to your apartment is important. If you are on the top floor and there are no lifts, then living on the 4th floor might not be quite as appealing if you need to climb the stairs everyday
