This blog will be an exploration of religious questions seeking for truth and understanding. It is primarily a personal exploration but I invite all to join me in my questions and ponderings. I am most interested in two time periods, the most ancient times possible and the time of Early Christianity in the first century. In exploring such religious questions my topics will include world religions, philosophy, history, archeology, and the physical sciences. I also like getting into implications for daily living. I am by no means a scholar or expert on these issues beyond the expertise of my personal experience.
I am a believing and practicing member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints often known as the Mormons, so my thoughts will be influenced by that unique perspective. I will not always make that connection explicit, unfortunately I find that there are so many stereotypes and misunderstanding out there about Mormons that it closes off dialogue. I would like my thoughts to stand on their own on their own merit. I also want to make clear that the views and opinions expressed in this blog are my own. I am not an official spokesman for or commissioned to write by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My views are my own.
I do not write this blog to try to “convince” anyone of my beliefs, however, I do challenge people to think deeply about faith, the cosmos, knowledge, and the purpose of life. Also to read, to read voraciously, yet not be so proud in your knowledge that you cannot pray to seek knowledge from above.
I will also add the disclaimer that my ‘seeking’ is ongoing and therefore my views and opinions, or my ability to express those views and opinions, are molded and refined as I continue to read and study. Furthermore, I hope to never be satisfied in my quest for truth and light.
I will also not vigorously promote the site, beyond my own comments/responses in the blogosphere, so if you find value in my writing or know someone who would likewise find value, I encourage you to share it.
